In North Florida we experienced heavy beach erosion along the gulf coast due to nearby hurricanes this year. I was under a pier at the beach and getting alerts in the low 30's. One after the other I pulled out coins caked in globs of moist black mud from a very deep hole . I thought the coins were quarters but with the condition they were in it wasn't until I got them home and scrubbed on one a bit that I realized they were actually one dollar presidential coins. After a few hours in a rock tumbler I could make out most of the writing but they need more work. I can't imagine how 9 of these coins ended up in that place. What a fun find.
